First things first, JWB is not a cheap date. You need to bring all your coins, but it is worth it. JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is located at the new Margaritaville Beach Resort. This resort is still under construction, but they have opened their first restaurant and it is a hit! As we all know, I love eating out and a great dining experience is definitely on the list of my favorite things; so I’m happy to be back with another Dining with Derencia. Hope you brought your appetites!
As we are still in a Corona land, we sanitized and our temperatures were checked as soon as we entered. Honestly, I hope that we keep up with sanitizing even after we are not in a pandemic. Side note: Sometimes, I think about all the things we did pre COVID 19 and I can’t imagine ever being so lax again. However, that’s a blog for another time. We were seated and presented with menus- food, wine and cocktails. My date and I had already decided on what we were eating but had not made up our minds on what to drink. We finally decided on a 2017 Gerard Bertrand. I wasn’t impressed with this wine, it was just okay.

Appetizers
The most buttery crispy edged bread was delivered to the table along with a smooth, almost cream cheese like butter. This was definitely a nice surprise and honestly, I loved the days when complimentary bread and water were served. Shortly after, lobster bisques and crab crakes adorned the table and I was happy; couldn’t wait to eat. Unfortunately though, the lobster bisque was not memorable. I prefer a creamy bisque and smaller pieces of lobster, whereas this one was more broth like with only a single lobster piece. It was also not hot enough. However, those crab cakes, you need them. They were so fresh! In each bite the flavors ignited a party in my mouth and the sauce on top was amazing.

Entrees
I have been craving a good steak since July of last year and JWB Prime Steak and Seafood did not disappoint. I ordered the 14 oz Prime NY Strip and it was the star of the show. I really need y’all to know how serious this is. I literally danced in my chair as I ate the first bite. The steak was so juicy, tender, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Do you remember how I described the short rib I had at Shima? This NY Strip came really close to that. My date ordered the Colorado Lamb Chops, not only were they simply delectable but I have never had lamb chops as huge and as tender as those ones. Both dishes were served with a few potato slices (which we did not know were included). Additionally, we ordered Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus and they were delicious.

Dessert
Dessert is not posted on their online menu, but options are available. Chocolate Explosion, Key Lime Pie and Guava Bread Pudding were offered that night. I am not a fan of any of those desserts, so I didn’t order one. However, my date chose the guava bread pudding and I tasted it. The flavors were definitely there, I just could not get past the texture. If this was offered in a cake or cheesecake, I do believe I would have liked it.

Do you think you’ll be visiting Nassau’s newest restaurant JWB Prime Steak and Seafood anytime soon?
