The Best Weekend in Abaco

For the entire year, I had been longing for an out island vacation. However, being busy with work, friends and the random things that come up in life I didn’t plan a trip and thought I would probably do it for my birthday or later on in the year. October or later seemed too far though, so one hot summer night, mid July I messaged my friend (when I should have been sleeping) about going to Abaco, Eleuthera or Exuma for the August Monday holiday. The next morning, I woke up to her saying that Abaco sounded great. In my disbelief, I asked if she was serious because I was serious and I was ready to book everything right now — and did! We booked flights and found a cute Airbnb in Marsh Harbour that same day. We had such a fun time and I’m so happy we went. Here’s everything we got up to.

Bahamian/Resident Rates for Your Next Staycation in Nassau

Quarantine is over, offices have reopened and even though we are still on a curfew, there’s a part of me that sometimes forget that we are in a pandemic. I think we will be living with Covid-19 for the foreseeable future. We have to stay as safe as possible while having some semblance of normalcy and enjoying what we can. I am not ready to travel out of the country as yet, but I do plan to visit an out island for the August Monday holiday. In the meantime, between time, I’m thinking of having a staycation right here, at home. I’ve seen a few hotels advertising Bahamian/Resident rates and figured it would be good to have them all listed in one place. I’ll keep updating this blog as the deals come!

The Best Girls Trip in Exuma

Picture this, it’s 6 am, the ticket agent is calling last call for your 7 am flight, and you’re the only one of four at the airport. This was me. It was my first girls trip and I’m wondering where are my friends?! Thoughts of us missing the flight, the possibility of travelling alone and not knowing what to do or where to go crossed my mind. At this point I was just hoping they would all arrive soon. By 6:30, three out of four of us had arrived and after seven (yes s e v e n)  unsuccessful phone calls, lucky number four was awake and on her way. After, prayers, hopes, almost tears and jokes, we were all boarded and headed to Exuma. Within twenty minutes of flight, the water started to do this really, like really blue thing, like clear blue, sky blue, just beauti-blu-ful! Yes, I know that was super corny, but you get it right?
