She’s backkkkk! in Sexyy Red voice
I know, I have been completely MIA and it’s because life has honestly been lifeing. I finished grad school in Manchester, moved back home to The Bahamas, started a new job in an entirely new industry, been catching up with friends home and abroad, and just trying to adjust to my new reality.

The transition to being back home hasn’t been easy. It’s so interesting that while many things are the same, things are still different, because I’m different. Things that I once accepted as normal are unusual and experiences that were once so common are a thing of the pastβ all because my location has changed. It’s kinda crazy what travel does to a person and not in a “Oh my gosh, I’m so enlightened” way, but my perspective has changed or at least been widen in so many aspectsβ¦and that’s what I wanted most.

On another note, I donβt know how we live in a place hot like this year round. Itβs always too hot man. In the first few days of being back home, my once clear and glowy skin started breaking out into heat rashes, as the weeks went by my clothes got tighter and my emotions were high. Within a month, the excitement of being back home had worn off and I missed Manchester so much. However, I didn’t have the time or space to even acknowledge those feelings (or any others) and just became so focused on the now and was simply living life day by day. No plans, no nothing.

Almost six months later, I am now adjusting to being back home, accepting my new reality and making plans for the near future. I’ve become more intentional with balancing my time. I finally made a vision board (yes in May tyvm), took some time to be creatively adventurous and starting to plan my trip back to Manchester for graduation. Exciting right?! In the meantime, I do have some upcoming blogs on things I did in Manchester, more European travel, restaurant recommendations and more fun things to do in Nassau.

So tell me, what would you like to read about next?
Can we get a review of the new Jazz club in Bahamar? π₯Ή

Welcome back to the Bahamas! I couldn’t agree more when you say that travel changes how you see things. Being originally from the Bahamas and moving abroad shifts your perspective on what used to be normal. Returning for visits in the heat has always been a big challenge for me and made me wonder if I was ever accustomed to this in my past life.
Perhaps one thing to consider is living outside of the Bahamas permanently and experiencing life from a new set of lenses.
