Cheers to the freaking weekend, I’ll drink to that! Let’s be honest, if it’s one thing this year has shown us, everyday is one for celebration and it makes no sense waiting and waiting for the “right time” to do what you want. I like drinks simple as that. Prosecco, mojitos, daiquiris and most recently I’ve even started drinking gin. I won’t even get started on my affinity for wines. The Bahamas is known for unique culinary experiences but do we really talk enough about the libations? Here’s my favorite drink spots in Nassau.

Hillside Bar
Tucked away on Cumberland Street is the cutest outdoor bar. Hillside Bar has an amazing selection of signature drinks and all of your favorite cocktails beginning with the letter M (mojitos, mimosas, margaritas, mules). They are definitely my go-to for mojitos and the tamarind mojito has a hold on me. Hillside is also the most affordable bar on this list, as drinks start as low as $5. Honestly, it’s a must visit.

The Tipsea Bar
Located at Ty’s Place, (previously at Tinferl- the Pop Up Community at the Dundas Theatre) is this extraordinary mobile bar. Tipsea Bar is literally housed in a trailer and that’s not even the most unique thing about them. From lemonades, to coffee, specialty mixed drinks and the classics, Tipsea has a drink for everyone. Whenever I’m visiting Tinferl, it’s always my first stop. Pineapple Mimosa me please.

Bon Vivants
The ambiance felt at Bon Vivants is unmatched. Maybe it’s the way the trees fall over the patio or how creatively decorated the inside is, that makes this bar a mood always! According to their website, Bon Vivants aspires to “take you on a journey, not only through time, but to different lands via the spirits and cocktails you will imbibe.” It was at this very bar where ya girl had her first Gin and Tonic (The Zephyr) and I was so surprised how good it tasted. I haven’t experienced the café offerings just as yet but if a drink can make me feel like I’m at a quaint café in Paris, don’t mind if I do.

Bahamian Bistro
I recently visited Bahamian Bistro and was quite taken by how adorable it was. As soon as you enter you are greeted with vibrant hues of blue, green, pink and yellow. Unlike any other restaurant that I’ve been to, Bahamian Bistro takes their own twist on the phrase “my beach is better” and covers their ground in actual sand. With 8 different restaurants to choose from the drink possibilities are endless. However if you’re looking for a great place to start I’d recommend the Blue Passion.

Home
They say home is where the heart is and while this may be true, it’s also where the drinks at. I usually always have a bottle of wine in the house. I really enjoy Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Moscato and have been trying numerous brands over the last few months. I recently tried a few reds from 19 Crimes and I thoroughly enjoyed them. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you can turn your home into your own bar with a few staples (whiskey, vodka, tequila) and mixers. Fyi, lemonade mixes well with almost everything.

You can get drinks anywhere, but the vibes at my favorite drink spots are all so unique. From ambiance, picturesque settings and most importantly the libations themselves, makes this list timeless. Please remember to drink responsibly. I hope that you can enjoy happy hour, pre gaming and just a good ole time at these spots sometime soon.
Home has been my vibe lately!
