The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and I was waking up in paradise. It’s just something about waking up without an alarm that makes me so happy. If you haven’t realized by now, I love to sleep and it’s so important to me to have a good rest. Anyway, that’s a story for another time, back to my Abaconian adventure.
I finally did it! I took my first solo trip this month. Yes, I’ve traveled alone before, but not like this. I was either visiting a friend or going to work. This trip was different, something special and I am so happy I did. With only one real solo trip in the books, I’m definitely not a world traveler or expert. However, I learned some things about myself and the whole “solo travel” world that may help you book your first solo trip in 2019 or make plans for another one.

It’s always an delicious time in The Bahamas, especially on the island of New Providence during the Autumn season. September to November, there are numerous annual festivals all waiting to satisfy your foodie cravings. This year was no different. I tried to attend each one and savor the flavors of the islands and everywhere else. I realized that I am truly a festival girl. I am festivals and they are me. We are one. I literally had the best time to each one and really don’t know how I am going to make it now that the festival season has ended.
