We’re back! With the hopeful rise in domestic tourism, it’s only fitting that we bring back the “Where Ya Been” series. Exploring The Bahamas is so enjoyable and I am counting down the weeks to my next out island adventure. I’m not sure as yet where I’m going, but the ideas of Bimini, Grand Bahama and Eleuthera are dancing around in my head. Yeah, I really need to finalize my plans. If you’re new to my blog or just haven’t read the previous posts in this series, you can check them out here and here.
I have been putting this off for as long as I could. I just didn’t want anything Corona related on my blog. However, I realized that this is something that we are all facing and I’m in a better space to actually talk about it now. A few weeks ago, I was in a rut and just couldn’t make sense of any of this. Everyday, I caught myself in a “I can’t believe this is real life” game. I sympathize with the people this is affecting the most. The persons with underlying conditions, the elderly, the ones in unfortunate living conditions, the essential workers and the people who were already living paycheck to paycheck and now don’t know where their money is coming from. We are all living in this pandemic and a little compassion and grace, can go a long way.
Do you dream about drinking Mojitos all day? Or maybe cruising the Havana streets in a vintage convertible car? Better yet, what about dancing the night away at a salsa club? If these thoughts cloud your mind then maybe it’s time to plan your trip to Cuba. I recently visited Havana, Cuba to celebrate my birthday and the experience was amazingly authentic. It was so refreshing to wake up and people watch on the balcony, salsa dance in the street and be disconnected from everything for a while. Cuba is not like anywhere that I’ve visited before and I am grateful for the experience. Before we dive into my ultimate guide, have you read my 5 Things to Know Before Visiting Cuba as yet? If not, you should definitely read it first.
