Bahamian/Resident Rates for Your Next Staycation in Nassau

Quarantine is over, offices have reopened and even though we are still on a curfew, there’s a part of me that sometimes forget that we are in a pandemic. I think we will be living with Covid-19 for the foreseeable future. We have to stay as safe as possible while having some semblance of normalcy and enjoying what we can. I am not ready to travel out of the country as yet, but I do plan to visit an out island for the August Monday holiday. In the meantime, between time, I’m thinking of having a staycation right here, at home. I’ve seen a few hotels advertising Bahamian/Resident rates and figured it would be good to have them all listed in one place. I’ll keep updating this blog as the deals come!

• Warwick Paradise Island: I literally was scheduled to stay at the Warwick the weekend the country was shut down due to Corona. I also had planned to do a day pass for a while now and kept postponing it. I’ve heard good things about their offerings and will definitely be visiting soon. The Bahamian/ Resident rate starts at $225 double occupancy. As an all inclusive brand, food, beverages and entertainment are included. Update: Warwick is offering an additional special for stays in August 2020. If you book from July 17th until July 24th, resident rates start at $199! • RIU Palace Paradise Island: Within the last 2-3 years, RIU has renovated and re branded as an adult only resort; I love that. It’s something about this hotel that screams baecation to me; maybe it’s the balconies, the romantic al fresco dinner offering or the infinity pool. The Bahamian Resident rate is $140 (per person/per night) single or double occupancy.  Reservations can be made via riu.com or by calling (242) 363- 3500. This offer is valid for vacations starting July 1st to October 26th, 2020.

• The Island House: Island House is one of my favorite places on New Providence. A cinema, spa, restaurants and of course a boutique hotel all in one little community is simply paradise. For my birthday this year, I intend to bring it in fabulously with an island luxury vacay. I’ve been looking at hotels in Eleuthera and Andros, but have also been eyeing this property just in case I am not able to travel. The Bahamian Resident deal is $495 per night (inclusive of all taxes & service). This includes a welcome bottle of wine, $100 room credit at Mahogany House and 10% off any spa treatment.
