I recently visited one of Nassau’s newest restaurants, Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chophouse and it was delightful. The service was great and the food was even better. I can’t wait to return and try more of their amazing offerings. My friend described our meal as “Comfort food but make it fancy” and I couldn’t agree more. Come take a bite out of another Dining with Derencia review.
Drinks
Before we even get into all the details, you need to know that this is a far walk. I valeted at Grand Hyatt, walked through SLS and exited out of the doors at Monkey Bar. We were told to keep left, pass Privilege Pool and follow the pathway. Marcus is right before Baha Bay (the waterpark), so please keep that in mind when you’re getting dressed to go there. We arrived a few minutes before our 8:30pm reservation and the place was booming. People were all around the beautiful bar area and what we could see of the dining room. We were told that our table was not ready as yet, but we could have a seat at the bar while we waited. The bar staff were quite friendly and greeted us with enthusiasm and a smile. In no time, we were cheering with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a French 75.

Appetizer
We were seated at our table about 15 minutes later. The dining room was dimly lit with an open kitchen concept. Our server was quite friendly and recommended the Cornbread with Buttered Rum for the table. The cornbread was flavorful and that rum sauce was so smooth and light. Next time I dine at Marcus, I’m ordering cornbread just for myself, believe that.

Entrées
My friends ordered the Roasted Half Chicken and the Grilled Red Snapper. They both enjoyed their entrees and of course, I tried the dishes as well and they were quite tasty. I got the Island Grilled Porkchop and it was tender and delicious. The porkchop was huge and was placed on a bed of pumpkin, mushrooms and pineapple. We shared a side of a hot and cheesy Mac and Cheese and it was a nice compliment to our dishes.

We were so stuffed that we had no more room for dessert; which is very unlike me, I know. I have to visit Marcus at Baha Mar again to try more of their food and be sure to get a dessert next time.
If you’re looking for new activities to try before dining at Marcus, check out this blog here. Which restaurant do you think I should visit next?
This will be our next adventure. I can’t wait. You were on point with the last recommendation. Looking forward to so much more.
